Moodboard – A Great Aid in Decision-Making
When starting an interior design project, there are two possibilities – the client knows exactly what they want, or they don’t have a clear vision for their future space. In both cases, it’s crucial to start a conversation to understand the style they prefer, their preferences, and desires. However, after this initial phase, one of the most useful tools in the space design process is the moldboard.
A moodboard is a visual composition of colors, materials, and textures that helps define the concept of the space. It allows for a better overview of element combinations, eases decision-making, and gives clients a clearer picture of what their interior could look like.
There are two types of moodboards:
- Digital Moodboard – created using software, it is used to display combinations of colors, patterns, and stylistic directions.
- Physical Moodboard – a physical display of materials that allows clients not only to see but also to feel textures, fabrics, and surfaces, which is an experience that cannot be fully transferred through a screen.
In our studio, we often use both approaches. The physical moodboard is especially valuable because it enables clients to physically handle materials such as tiles, fabrics, and wood samples, further reinforcing their decision. The sensory experience of textures and colors in person is priceless, and the variety of patterns we offer thanks to our collaboration with leading suppliers makes the selection process easier and more efficient.
Our meeting table is often a true treasure trove of inspiration – filled with samples, catalogs, and combinations carefully chosen by our designers for each project. Additionally, the rooms in our studio are designed as moodboards, where clients can experience various materials and textures in a real space.
